SPATIO reverbs set a new standard of quality in the field of synthetic reverberation. Efficient and reliable reverbs, natural workhorses for your studio with a unique sound.
SPATIO Inverse is a true inverse reverb.
Whereas normal reverb is generally used to emulate the acoustic characteristics of physical spaces, inverse reverb is a special audio effect: a backwards reverb that slowly builds up instead of decreasing. Very popular throughout the 80’s, especially on snare drums, this effect creates a haunting, unique ambience effect and can be used with other modules (i.e. tremolo, delay, reverbs) to create stunning sounds.

Inverse reverb is characterized by a particular shape of its Impulse Response (IR). An IR is the output of a system, as a reverberator, when a very rapid (ideally instantaneous) excitation is applied to its input.
Room impulse responses have an exponentially decaying slope (Fig. 1). This is the natural behavior of acoustic spaces due to the absorption of their surfaces and of air.
Inverse reverberators are not designed to mimic real rooms, they are special effects designed to have non-exponentially decaying IR. Inverse reverberators have an IR that get stronger with time instead of decaying (Fig. 2). This perceptually contradictory effect creates an interesting and distinctive sound.
SPATIO Room, to my ears, rules above all the other small room verbs…I’m now using this on pretty much everything. It adds just the right amount of presence to a sound without being obvious or overbearing. Whatever you did, it just works.
Wow, I had no idea the plug-ins were this great! I have worked with them on a 1 minute drum track for a few hours and I am amazed at the quality. I am sold, these are the plugs needed to create pro sound within host recording apps.
I really like this reverb. Especially unique among reverb plug-ins are elements like plates and gates, they sound wonderful. The DX Reverb is a model plug-in with a lot of substance rolled into an intuitive, compact UI. Great job!
I particularly like the plates – they’re nice and silky with voice, and aggressive with snares – but the halls are equally satisfying…This fine-sounding reverb is versatile enough that you’re bound to find something that works for you among the 47 presets. If not, a little tweaking will get you there
SPATIO Inverse plugin is absolutely the best one I used on vocals for this kind of effect.
Beautifully conceived, Anwida plug-ins never disappoint. Highly recommended!
